Community and ministry leaders are inviting the public to participate in a day of prayer and fasting for the Tyler community on Tuesday.
At noon Tuesday, everyone who wants to participate will gather at the Tyler Rose Garden Center, 420 Rose Park Drive, for one hour to pray for specific people and issues related to the community and nation.
During this Judeo-Christian event, about 10 preselected people will pray about topics including first responders, the educational system, the medical community and peace in Israel.
“We’re just calling all prayer warriors to come to the Rose Garden and spend their noon hour with us,” Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast coordinator Debbie Isham said.
Today’s event is designed to serve as a preparation for the Tyler Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, which coincides with the National Day of Prayer on May 5.
Ms. Isham said the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is more than 20 years old, and the Day for Prayer and Fasting has been going on for several years.
Church pastors and staff members, ministry leaders, first responders, school board members and local government leaders are among those expected to attend.
